Privacy & consent
What this site collects, and why
Stereom is free to download and use. Getting the plugin and running it collects nothing about you.
The only personal data involved is the free account you set up the first time you solve. This page says exactly what that is, in plain language.
Downloading and using Stereom
The download is open: no email, no sign-up, no account needed to install the plugin and use its tools. The site sets no tracking or advertising cookies, builds no analytics profile, and never sells or shares your data.
The free account (for solving)
Solving is free and unlimited, but it needs a free account, a one-time step so we can issue your solve license. That account stores only what it takes to run it:
- Your email address, because the account is passwordless, so we send a sign-in link to your email.
- Your consent and its timestamp: a record that you agreed to the account terms, and when.
- Your enrolled devices, so your license works across the machines you use, and you can remove one from your dashboard.
That’s the whole list. No tracking or advertising, no analytics profiles, no selling or sharing your data. The full account privacy notice ships with the account flow itself.
The email list (no account)
Joining the list is separate from having an account, and does not create one. We store your email address, the time you asked, and a token that makes your unsubscribe link work. Nothing else: no name, no company, no tracking.
We send a confirmation straight away so you know the address worked, an email when Stereom is released, and occasional updates about the software after that.
Every one carries an unsubscribe link, and using it removes you from the list. We never pass your address to a third party.
Leaving the list does not touch an account, and deleting an account does not remove you from the list.
Why, and on what basis
We use your email solely to run your free account: sending your sign-in link and the occasional account-related message. The email list above is a separate consent, given separately, and withdrawable on its own.
The legal basis is your consent, given when you create the account. You can withdraw it at any time and delete your account from the dashboard.
We do not send marketing to anyone who has not asked for it, and we never pass your address to a third party.
How long we keep it
We keep your account for as long as you use it. Delete it, from the dashboard or by asking us, and we remove your email and associated records. We don’t retain accounts you’ve closed.
The email list is kept for as long as you stay on it. Unsubscribe and we keep only the fact that you opted out, which is what stops us emailing you again. Ask us and we will erase that too.
Your choices
You can ask us to show you, correct, or delete your data at any time. Email privacy@stereom.com and we’ll take care of it.
Spam protection
The account sign-in form is protected against automated abuse. That check confirms a request comes from a person; it isn’t used to profile or track you.
A full privacy policy and terms accompany the account system and any paid product as those arrive. This page describes what the site does today.
